The song

It was raining the other day, and most people preferred to stay back at home. But, I got really bored sitting at home as power wasn't there also, and decided to venture out. I took my umbrella and just walked out, without any destination in mind. Just a brief walk, to enjoy the rain I thought.

At around 200mts, there is a temple nearby. As I walked, I saw only 1 person in the temple, that being the priest himself. I knew the priest personally and thought of having a word with him as it had been a long time since I visited that temple and had chatted with him.

God wanted me to come to the temple.
The priest was talking to someone over phone. I thought of not disturbing him.

I stood there folding hands and praying in my mind. I was wishing many things. Suddenly, a hero ran past the temple in his car playing the song "Bakhuda tum hi ho" from Kismat Konnection loud enough to disturb my concentration.

However hard I could control not to play this song in my mind in the temple, it didn't work. I kept telling to myself - "this is a film song, keep it away here", but my mind wouldn't listen.

Finally, I gave up and decided to do something exciting. I thought of converting this song in mind to be positive. I changed the subject of "tum" in the song from the lady to God. So, this song was up dedicated to HIM..

It thus meant -

Bakhuda tum hi ho .. With His grace, you are the one
Har jagah tum hi ho .. You are there everywhere
Haan mein dekhu jaha jab .. Whereever, whenever I see
Us jagah tum hi ho .. You are there, at the moment

Ye jaha tum hi ho .. You are the world to me
Wo jaha tum hi ho .. And in all worlds too
Is zameen se falak ke .. All the way from earth to skies
Darmiya tum hi ho .. I can see you everywhere

Tum hi ho beshuba tum hi ho .. You are the one, beyond all limits
Tum hi ho mujh me ha tum hi ho .. Yes..You are the one in me too

Tum hi ho .. You are the one

I continued this song for the rest of the time I was in temple. In my mind.

And it worked! My wish had been partially fulfilled :)

Back home, I tried recollecting all songs which have "tum" or "tu" sung by one and addressed to the opposite gender. And, I got a whooping list of songs! Some of them are -

Tum ho toh - Rock On!
Tum se hi - Jab We Met
Haa Tu hain - Jannat
Tu bin bataye - Rang De Basanti
Agar tum mil jao - Zeher
Ek ho gaye hum aur tum - Bombay

I thought - all these songs, could be changed depending on context :)
