Rab ne...

Watched Rab ne... last Wednesday with my team. I dont want to comment on the film, but here are some points worth noticing.

* "Raaj.. Naam to suna hoga" - he doesn't seem like getting over from it. Ever since DDLJ.

* One scene where Taani tells "Thank you ji". And he tells "Mention not". - I predicted that he would tell this!

* One scene where he comes back winning after a fight with a Sumo wrestler - "Yeh sab karne ki kya zaroorat thi?" she asks - I predicted this too! Still wondering - Sahni is hardly 80 kgs & the Sumo guy definetly more than 200 kgs.. HOW?

* Sahni daily has a bath, with tap open. (I still dont know the inclusion of this scene, oops.. 3 scenes of this!)

* Sahni always carries a pendrive hanging around his neck. Never seen using it though. Was he in the accounts section as an ambassador for Compaq?

* Whereever Raaj goes his troupe follows him - Kajol, Rani, Preity, Lara. Thankfully, Arjun Rampal and Kiron Kher didn't turn up.

* A section of Amritsar is under Sahni's control for electricity. And he knows the alphabets.

* At one point, I thought Rab was infact Vinay Pathak when he mentors him!

* Also predicted that in the final dance scene, Raaj would turn out to be Sahni to dance. And we weren't wrong!

* The tagline - "Hum he rahi pyar ke.. Phir milenge.. Chalte chalte.. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.." looks like Raaj is obsessed with his movies.

Some unanswered questions..

* How can a teacher trust his student more than his daughter?

* How can a wife not recognize her husband?

* Why doesn't a wife tell a stranger that she's already married and not to flirt with her?

The list goes on.. but enough for now..

Overall, I enjoyed the film.

Did I say "I enjoyed the film?". No! I enjoyed the company with whom I went for the film. Working professionals at office, students elsewhere :)

All I ask Rab - Kab tu banayega meri jodi?

Untitled - Part 2

/**

Her words were still ringing in his mind. He was feeling very helpless, lonely, irritated, depressed, and what not. But he wanted a way out of this, as it wasn't going out the way he had planned.

He called her and told her that he wanted to talk to her.

"What was the matter?" she asked. "Hmmm.. nothing.. just wanted to talk to you for sometime" he told. "Ok.. this would be the last time, as he doesn't like this" she said. "Fine, I get it. Please suggest time when you are free" he told. He began wondering, when was the first time?

Finally they agreed to meet. A friday evening, a week after he was shattered. At coffee day. A lot can happen over a coffee.

"I have a confession to make" he told. She looked surprised.

"Knowingly or unknowingly, I'd fallen for you. The first time I saw you in bus, you looked marvelous" he said.

"Hey, no!" She interupted. "I thought we were friends. I never had such feelings for you. Sorry, I'm already taken. I wish I had already made you aware of this that I was committed."

"Yeah.. yeah.. I know. I just confessed. But there is something more that I need to tell" he said.

"Go on"

"You know, once you had only said that getting a birth on this earth in Kaliyuga is a sin and we need to get liberated soon and reach God. And that, you should be in control of yourself, and not anyone else. At first I disbeleived it, but now I realize that it is indeed a sin to be born here. There are no emotions attached to anyone, no feelings for anyone, everyone just want themselves to be happy and this whole world is filled with greed." he told.

"What are you getting at?" she asked.

"Yeah, coming to that. I know you have been asked to avoid me by your boy and you are doing that. But, remember what you had told earlier that you need to be in control of yourself. But now, you are just listening to him. Rembember one thing - relationships are built on trust and not on doubts or conditions. Please understand this and make your guy also understand. If you can't do this, please get me his number and I'll talk to him and tell him that he doesn't need to feel insecure and there is nothing going between us and abandon the restrictions put on you so that we could just be in the same way as before. Just friends and nothing else. Common yaar, its your life and you chose how you like it to be. I wonder why guys get possessive on their girlfriends!

"I am now beginning to feel that there is no love at all in this world. Its only compromise and sacrifice. People say that if you pray with a pure heart, your wish will get fulfilled, but no longer I believe this. May be you weren't destined for me. Call it fate or whatever. Rab ne didn't bana di jodi. And people also say that whatever happens, happens for good. So, I'm optimistic on the other end. May be someone else is waiting for me. But, I'll make sure I wont end up like this again. Probably all girls should wear a tag around them saying single, committed, married, etc to save guys like us to fall into the well." he told.

She smiled for the first time after a week. A perfect 100W smile.

"Life is a game. You win some, you lose some. I won your friendship and lost your love. This happens, and life moves on. Time is a great healer. I'm just never serious in life. Now I know what a fool I've been. I just want everyone around me to be happy and if I was a problem somewhere, I needed to get things sorted out. I wish you the very best and you get the one you are longing for."

She rose and stretched her hand. "Sorry again, and thanks. I know how you are feeling. Its just that I'm not the one for you. I hate getting possessed by anyone, but still he takes good care of me. You don't know under what all situations I'd been thru and he was always there with me. Some things which I cant tell to my sister, I tell him. One or the other day I'm going to get married, so why not with him? Anyways, I'm happy that you finally got over it. Lets just be Friends?" she asked.

"Yes babe! Just friends!" he told and hugged her.

He pulled out a keychain which had her name on it and handed it over to her. She looked surprised. "Whats this for?" she asked.

"I know you have a habit of forgetting days, and I also know that on someone's birthday, you need to be gifted by the birthday guy. So, here's this for you on my birthday" he told.

She couldn't believe what he was saying. After much hesitation, she finally accepted his gift.

"Thank you!" she laughed and cried at the same time.

"Can I ask you something?" he asked. "Ya, go on" she told.

"Is your sis free? ;)"

Guys will be guys.

The 3 magical words were ringing in his mind. "Can we go out for lunch today? I need to tell something." he asked her. He had planned to propose her in few days.

"I need to tell something to you, wish I had done this before" she replied.

He became excited. Was she going to tell the same thing to him? He was all ears.

"I have someone, like a boyfriend. We have been going around for quite sometime. Both our families know about this, but nothing is finalised. He doesn't like me talking or going around with you, for that matter, with any guy. It wasn't that serious, but he has been very persistant on this. I also thought, instead of some person whom I don't know, why not him? I am really sorry, but I'm just listening to him. I should have told you before that I'm committed. I can't join you. Please dont be sad." she told.

He stood stone silent. He froze. He couldn't digest what she was saying. His eyes were heavy, but the "guy" factor in him didn't allow him to break down in front of her.

"Oh.. Ok.. Cool.. No issues" he told and left the place.

Back in his place, her words kept ringing in his mind. He finally broke.

To be continued..

Flying colors

The D-day had finally come. All the efforts spent would be shown up on that day. A whole weekend was spent on this. It was infact, the certification exam day! Dec 1 2008.

The last minute preparations started as soon as I got into the bus. I began to get nostalgic, when I remembered the ways I had taken to prepare for exams in college. This was different, though.

She also joined me in the bus, holding a bunch of one sided printed papers. Thank God, she hadn't printed those & reused the material given by her friend. She too starts her last minute preparations.

"Nothing is going in my head!", she exclaims. I get a shiver that I may also be forgetting everything at a fast rate. I told her to keep her cool and give the best she could. I was telling the same to myself.

"I studied till 3:30 in the morning today", she tells. I get a little complex, "OMG ! I slept at 10:30 PM itself", I told.

Finally we reached the bus terminal and split our ways to our buildings. We decided to catch up before leaving.

The time came soon. I left my desk after cursory last minute glance of pages, went to her building, and we rushed to the examination centre. An irony here, we were walking fast to the place where we were scared to be!

The clock struck 10 and we were let in the exam hall. I could sense the aura of examinations. People were holding booklets together and reading continuosly. When will they stop?, I thought.

The exam went off well. The last 10 mins was very crucial. I had exactly marked 11 questions which I knew were wrong for me. My brain stopped thinking and actually got diverted to those who left the exam. These 11 questions could make me or break me.

Taking God's name, I submitted the paper just a minute before the alloted time. 2 seconds passed by. Nothing was happening on screen. Phew! A screen came up showing the scores. I had passed! And the best - all those 11 questions which I marked wrong, were wrong ! An exact, on the dot pass!

She sat next to me and at the same minute, a broad smile flashed on her face. She couldn't believe she had cleared! And with a whooping percentage!

Both were far too relieved. Of all the tensions.

We exited from the exam centre with flying colors. The way back to our buildings was at ease.

You go ahead, ask your friends about her, background verification.

You go ahead, find out what they are doing, background verification.

You approach her, analyze for some time, understand her requirements.

You approach them, set up meetings, understand their requirements.

You prepare an estimate - costs that you can afford to gift her, take her out, etc.

You prepare an estimate - project costs, margins, revenues, etc.

If everything suits you, you propose her.

If everything suits you, you prepare a proposal & submit.

She might agree or disagree. If she disagrees, you re-propose after an increased estimate.

They might agree or disagree. If they disagree, you resubmit your proposal after a reduction in estimate.

Consider she agrees. You plan & work - design your world, build relationships, test it.

Ādi Chunchungiri Trip

Yesterday, taking a break from my routine schedule, I'd arranged a small outing to Ādi Chunchungiri hills, to see our Home God (mane devru) - Sri Kālabhairaveshwara Swami. Just the 3 of us - myself & my parents. We started at around 8 AM and boarded a Hassan bound bus from Majestic. We were to get down at Bellur Cross and from there take a rick or something to reach the temple, as this was the info given to us by some relatives and also some websites.

It took us nearly 3hrs to reach Bellur Cross and landed there at 1145. Immediately, we caught a rick (seat auto - 10 bucks pp, as many people) and reached the foothill of Ādi Chunchungiri at around 12. On the way, we saw a big Kalyani. A huge number of steps (200, to be precise) and a big arc at the top was awaiting to be climbed.

We reached the top (first level) and a magnificient temple was there in front of us. We directly entered the temple thru one of its side doors. There wasn't much rush, as I had expected initially. There were small dieties of God all over on the pillars. When asked someone, he said there were a total of 64 Bhairavas around the interiors, 8 Bhairavas in the centre & 1 Main idol of the Lord in Garbhagudi. Probably, photos can explain it better..

Needless to mention, the dog is the vehicle (vahana) of this Lord and he's there right in front of Him.

The main Garbhagudi was made of black stone while the rest of the temple was of white stone. We had a view of entire temple, did Archana there and left the temple. Adjacent to the temple was a 27 foot, single stone carved idol of Shiva - Sri Nagalingeshwara.

Beside this, there was a board which read - Way to Gangadeshwara, Kattale Someshwara and Chola Stambha. This again were to be climbed. At another 150 steps was the Gangadeshwara temple, which looked as if it was in a cave. Very small with little light around. Further up the hill was the Kattale Someshwara, but mom stayed behind and me & dad only went up (lil adventurous). After 200 steps (each step was approx 1 ft high), we came across a small cave with entire darkness. We had to use the light in our mobile to get in thru it and saw the Kattale Someshwara idol. (Kattale = dark). We further wanted to go up and see the Chola Stambha, but as people over there said that we had to do some rock climbing, we rejected the idea.

We then came back to the place where mom was resting and decided to have lunch there, which was packed and got from home. But, to our dismay, some monkeys attacked us and made us leave the place. So, we had to discontinue our lunch and hurriedly packed everything and came down. On the way down, we saw Swamiji's Kuteera and resting place. Back near the temple, we saw Sri Annapoorneshwari Prasada Nilaya and just went in. To our surprise, they were serving lunch as Prasada ! Immediately we got in and had the Prasada. Thanks monkeys ! They didn't want us to have home food & have the Prasada !

After the lunch, we checked into some exhibition cum shopping centre and looked for idols of Kālabhairaveshwara. But, none of them suited our requirements, so left the place without buying anything.

When we got down the 200 steps at 3 PM, a rick was already waiting for us and we barged into that. In 10 mins we were back at Bellur Cross and a bus too was waiting for us ! It all appeared like all ready ! We were back in Bangalore at around 630 PM.

There were no hindrances like rain or anything. The weather was also just too good. The Lord truely takes care of His devotees. Thanks Lord :)

Functions and Relatives

I recently had been to a marriage reception of one of my far relatives unwillingly, as I was forced to attend it by my parents. There I met quite some people, whom I’d never seen before and some other common relatives. I just jotted out what all they asked me. Here are a few.

Oh.. you have grown this big..! When I saw you that time, you were so small. Now, you are thiiiiis big !
Plastic smile .. Ya..
What do they expect, I shouldn’t grow?

You remember me?
No..
What the heck.. I’m just seeing for the first time..

Your brother is taller than you.. !
Another plastic smile.. Ya..
Big deal !

Oh.. Infosys..? You know Srinivas?
Naah..
He stays our next door only..
So what? There are more than 30k in Bangalore .. Do they want me to know everyone?

How do you commute?
Company bus
How long will it take?
3 hrs up and down
Oh.. that much ! It must be hectic na?
Ofcourse.. theres no other option..!
Traffic must be worse na?
Ya..
What would you expect? You only came an hour late !

Oh.. Infosys..? They must be paying you well na?
THE END

Kismat Konn?

After much hoopla (& my adulation of VB), I went to Kismat Konnection y'day at Cauvery second show with the same goa gang. Only thing after seeing this I want to say - Thank God, it got over for just 70 bucks! NCK was right, now we knew why we got the tickets. The story is absurd. I felt sleepy for sometime. Vidya has blown up like a baloon. Her shortened hair doesn' suit her. And again, she continues to be with oldies (didn't get better partners in life?). Shahid is ok, like always as his kiddish face. Hasina Juhi is wasted. Crap. Boman Irani..? A perfect man for ending of a hindi film. Songs are ok. And for all the sentis involved, it has miserably failed. Didn't get the purpose of shooting in Canada. Bombay has lots of old age homes, could have cut down on cost! I would say its a mix of LRMB & JWM. Ooph.. did I say more than Rajeev Masand? He was considerate enough to give a 2/5. I would have thrown an egg!

All I'm thinking of now is... when will my Kismat Konnect? ;-)

Chapter 7

...

'What's up?' I said, more to improve communication than the sight of her smudged eyes.

'Nothing,' she said in a broken voice.

A girl's 'nothing' usually means 'a lot'. Actually, it meant 'a lot and don't get me started'. I thought of a suitable response to a fake 'nothing'.

...

...

'She told me last night she would SMS me in the morning. It is afternoon already, and she hasn't. She always does that.' She said.

'Why dont you SMS her instead?' I asked.

'I am not doing that. She said she would. And so she should, right?'

I looked at her blankly, unable to respond.

'She is in this hi-fi PR job, so she is too busy to type a line?'

I wished that woman would SMS her so we could start class.

'Next time I will tell her I have something really important to talk about and not call her for two days,' she said.

Some, I repeat only some girls, measure the strength of their friendship by the power of the emotionally manipulative games they could play with each other.

...

Excerpts from Chetan Bhagats new - The 3 mistakes of my life.

I agree.

Frozen

You only see what your eyes want to see
How can life be what you want it to be
You're frozen
When your heart's not open

You're so consumed with how much you get
You waste your time with hate and regret
You're broken
When your heart's not open

True Madonna...

Kitchen King

Today was a special day for me. For the first time since my return from UK, i took over the kitchen. Thanks to my parents, they had gone for some marriage in the morning. They gave an option for us to either go to a hotel or cook ourselves. I preferred the latter, as it was too cumbersome to go out for lunch as it was sunny. The deal was - I'll cook and my bro will wash the utensils later. Took a good 1.5 hours for cooking 2 dishes - rice & sambhar. First cut carrot and beans which took 1/2 an hr. Then cooked them along with dal & rice in separate containers. Then added all other ingredients - salt, sambhar powder, tamarind water, chilli powder, tadka etc. It turned out to be good infact! Check this out -
Well appreciated by parents when they had it for dinner. London has thought me a lot :)

Goa Trip - Day 4

Our last day in Goa started off on a good note, with first settling the bill amount and then going to Vasco. Oh ya, I'd forgotten to write about this - as soon as we landed in Panaji the first day, we got return tickets booked to Bangalore through Paulo travels, Ac bus. I'll come back to it later anyways. And also we had the train tickets booked, but it was still in waiting list. So had to cancel it before we incur any further losses.

It was a 1.5 hour drive to Vasco from Calangut and me and Bond waited in the que to cancel the tickets, while NCK and Kirthi went around shopping for cashews, as we were told that cashews here were cheap (hell it was cheap!). We next had a glimpse of Vasco port and still were thinking where to go next as we had nearly 3 hours to return the car. It was there we had the group photo sessions - drivers (Bond & Kirthi), navigator(myself) and antakshari winner(NCK) ;) (The favourite letter to end a song was with 'L')

We then relooked of going to the missed out Aguada fort, and came back to the fort after another hour drive. The tower and the place where the trio of DCH sat were thoroughly shooted. We spent around an hour there and came back to Panaji and returned the car at 430 PM.

Then we had light snacks at a nearby restaurant and proceeded to catch our bus back to Bangalore which was at 6. The very first look of the bus made me skeptical as to we will reach Bangalore or not! It was AC/Non-AC bus, with the first half being AC, a door in the middle and the rear half being non AC. Phew! At least we thought we were in a better position as we had a sleeper in Ac. When asked the driver as to where would he stop for breaks, he told - dinner at Karwar, breakfast at Sira. ??!!?? What ?? A stop for breakfast! We really had not thought of bunking office on Monday. Well, anyways, as the bus started, (at 7), within half an hour, the AC and the lights were turned off. We were happily playing cards, and then had to switch to 20 questions. The crew of the bus was horrible and they were not accepting any requests to turn on the AC. What crap! And, they stopped for dinner at 10 at a dirty hotel in Karwar. My goodness, the return journey was horrible. We continued our game till 1 and then slept off.
Next day morning, I woke up only at Sira for breakfast. Sure, I had to bunk office. Thought of taking a snap of the bus and publishing it-
Well, reached home at 12ish, had lunch and slept off again. Overall, it was an amazing trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The next time I go to Goa, I'll ensure that I take along a female with me ;) Goa surely rox !

And people, anyone thinking of Paulo travels..? Give it a second thought!

Goa Trip - Day 3

After a real good sleep, we woke up on the saturday morning at 9ish and went for breakfast at 935. But it turned out to be a mess, with the breakfast getting closed at 930 only. This resulted with an argument with the manager and then he succumbed to pressure and finally agreed to provide the breakfast specially done for the four of us. Good hospitality :)

Enough of the beaches, we enquired about any waterfalls nearby with the manager. He suggested one Harvalem water falls, which was around an hour journey. We left for that place taking directions which were in the map and enquiring at many places, since the route to that falls was not that clearly mentioned. On our way, we saw a signboard showing DoodhSagar falls, and for a moment we thought we will ditch Harvalem and go to DoodhSagar. But since the latter was further an hours journey from a place nearby Ponda, we decided to go to Harvalem only and later go to DoodhSagar. We reached Harvalem at around 130 PM, where there was a temple(dint go) and a small waterfall, which was around max 50ft. But, this place wasn't that crowded at all, and we could peacefully take photos to put in our orkut profiles.
We left that place in half an hour and thought of going to DoodhSagar. But, as we drove, DS appeared to be not reachable only. We had our lunch at 4PM near Ponda at a Udupi restaurant - that was the best lunch we had in goa. Then, after a brief discussion, we thought of going to Colva beach, as we had got reviews from many friends that this was the best beach in goa and not to be missed. We reached Colva beach at around 530PM where a huge lot of people had gathered. It was totally packed and there was little watersports. The beach also wasn't all that clean, still I was wondering what was there in Colva ! We then had to drop the idea of getting wet.

So what next? Where do we go next? This was haunting all our minds. I suggested we go back to Baga, have a couple of drinks on the last night in Goa and doze off. But the other three were not in unison, and all were vouching for Palolem beach, which was in the extreme south of Goa. I knew this would take much of the time in driving and the evening would be wasted, but people didn't agree and we drove to Palolem beach. Me full modd off :(

We reaced Palolem beach at around 8PM and nothing much was there to do. As NCK was telling, there were a lot of foreigners who were busy in the shacks having beer, but what for us! Ya, could have done something if we had reached early, but no point at 8. We just walked thru the shore like lone wanderers for sometime and came back to our car and started towards Calangut. A good 2 hour journey. An evening wasted. Bad planning.

Back in my room, I ordered a port wine and hit the bed.

Goa Trip - Day 2

The sun was already on top of our head when we woke up at 'Estrella Do Mar' beach resort at 9. After having our breakfast, a lousy upma, omlet, pakoda & bread, first went to Calangut beach. It was just a 5 min walk from our resort. There we had a good time in the beach (what can 4 guys do!) just trying to stand steady amidst the rising waves, in vain though. We had initially thought of spending the whole morning at Calangut beach, but got bored eventually after sometime. There were ya, couple of 'ongoers' and 'onlookers', but we could reach them hardly ;)

We came back to resort, took the car and thought of finishing off all beaches that day. First we went to Anjuna beach, the idea given to us by a candyman at Calangut beach where he said its 'worth' going there to watch. Thanks to him, it was a family beach alltogether.

Disappointed, we then headed towards Dona Paula, the idea this time was given by one of Bond's friends. It took us an hour from Anjuna to Dona Paula, only to find a small hill kind of thing from where some scenic views could be seen. There was a hand held telescope guy who showed me Vasco port, Governors bungalow, Taj hotel and 2 more places for Rs. 5/-. It was a good place again, but couldn't stay long there. Packed off.

On our way thinking where to go next, in the map we could see another beach - Miramar. So decided to go there hoping to enjoy. Ya, by the time we reached there it was 3ish and we had pav bhaji, ice tea etc to fill our stomach anticipating good fun in the beach. As we walked on the hot sand, phew!A signboard reading - 'Donot step in. Its dangerous here' :( Well, though there were people who had stepped in till below knee level, we found it not interesting again, as it was filled only with kids & their parents. Hence decided to go to some other beach.

It was still hot and the moment I saw parasailing at Sinquerim, always wanted to get its thrill. So, I suggested that we finish off water sports that day, and we came back to Sinquerim. Again the same agents approached us, quoting the same rates, But this time, we got thought we will get some more 'discount', and booked an agent for Rs. 550 per head for 3 rides - jetskie, banana ride & parasailing. A whooping 1500 bucks per head saved, cos we were still students :) (When asked a couple sometime later, they told they paid 1200 only for parasailing!)

First me and Bond got into the jetskie, wearing a local life jacket. The experience was too good, even though I didn't had the contol of the scooter. Deep into the sea, zig zag movement against the waves, bumping.. all got over within 5 mins. Just too good to take! DCH truely inspired us :)

Next, we went for the banana ride. NCK had been telling that the boat will capsize deep in the sea and to be careful and I was eagerly looking forward to that moment. Bond, though was initially not very much interested in getting into the boat, made a brave effort of joining us later. The banana was bloated, we sat on it and a motor boat was attached to the banana. It was all good till we were holding the boat firmly and it was going straight. When we reached quite a distance from the shore, the boat took a turn. Within no time me and Kirthi were under water still holding the boat, but the other two were missing ! Bond was screaming like hell a little distance away and NCK looked really scared, though not screaming. It took quite an effort for me and Kirthi to get these guys back on boat. But for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it! In the middle of the sea, under no control! Just an amazing life time experience. We then somehow managed to get back to the shore. The life jacket did its job. I really wanted some pics in the middle of the sea, but in vain. This memory will last for good.

Not able to withstand anymore, Bond opted out of parasailing. We 3 chucked hurriedly into a boat, as there was another big gang waiting for parasailing. There we changed to another boat which was meant exclusively for parasailing. First NCK and Kirthi parasailed. Next turn, I was alone. It was a very good feeling being in the air, in the sea, at a good height, watching the sunset. All I wanted to do in goa was 80% complete. Another life time experience. Nothing better than this!

We returned to the resort after all water sports, had a good bath and set out for dinner at 9ish. We could find only a couple of hotels open at that time and barged into one 'Garam Masala' hotel. There only 2 people were working for a crowd of around 12 people. Spent nearly 2 hours for getting our dinner ready, and came back to resort and crashed to bed.

Goa Trip - Day 1

After a long wait for getting the leave approved for May 2nd by my manager, convincing peple that the regular work will not be affected that day, I left for Goa with my Eng friends without caring about the project status on 30th Apr. Finally. The place where every bachelor who has watched DCH wishes to go.

We landed at Panaji at around 8ish by the well driven KSRTC volvo, playing cards thru out the night. Oh, btw, We = Me, Bond(another Karthik), Kirthi and NCK(Chandrakanth). We were all hostel mates at SIT. Ya, going further, we booked a WagonR for ourselves from a self proclaimed dealer for 3 days. We straight went to Calangut where NCK(thru outsourcing) had booked a beach resort for one day initially, which got extended till our stay in goa.

After freshing up, we first thought of finishing off all the religious places before we start our purpose of being in goa ;) So first went to St Xaviers Bascillica (also known as Bom Jesus) which is in Old Goa. I remember seeing this when I was a kid. Fortunately, it was open and not crowded as expected. Here, the body of St Xavier can be seen.

After this, we had some juices and drinks to wipe off our thirst and marched towards Mangueshi temple. Needless to say, tender coconuts, fresh lime sodas and other juices were our best drinks in the sun all the 4 days. We reached the temple, had darshan of Lord Shiva and were thinking of where to go next.
The first thing that came to mind was Aguada fort, where DCH shooting had taken place. So, we moved up again towards the fort, only to see that the gates of the fort were being closed at 5ish. Well, luckily there was a beach nearby - Sinquerim beach and we decided to have a first look of a Goan beach. This was quite a good beach where there were some water sport activities going on. As we approached the beach, agents fell upon us for the water sports from rates like Rs. 300 per head for one ride (Jetskie and Banana boat) and Rs. 1200 for parasailing. After a lots of bargaining (good job Bond) we showcased that we were students and not affordable to pay such hefty prices, the price lowered to Rs. 500 for 2 rides. We said we would come back tomorrow and play in water.

Next, we headed to another beach, Baga beach, which was a purely commercial one. Tables and hookahs on the shore, people of all ages & all nationalities surrounded the place. We had the popular local fenny, wine and other drinks along with gobi etc, spent that evening enjoing the cool breeze and looking at stars and then returned to our resort. The fenny was strong. I was in my own world.

Jus a Thought..

Some one has rightly said..

Swatah madodu uttama (Doing the work yourself is best)
Maga madodu madhyama (Work done by son is medium)
Aalu madodu haaLu (Work done by a servant is hopeless)

If the same is applied to daily work..

Client madodu uttama
Vendors madodu madhyama
Employees (of vendors) madodu haaLu

If everyone thought like this... waah.. what a life it would have been :)
