Salary cuts for employees - company accumulates wealth.
Introduce new mind boggling policies which won't be modified - betterment for the company.
Cut the cost every nook and corner - company saves.
Now, the "hike" news is buzzing all over.
Will the hike really benefit us? The prices of essential food commodities have (or will) increased. Other essential must use things such as petrol, medicines, house rent, dresses, etc, also will increase. We would be paying more for these things. So, we end up saving only the same amount we used to save previously.
"Hike" is just a mental satisfaction.
Whatever...
The company pays you just enough so that you won't quit the company.
You work hard just enough so that the company doesn't fire you.

CAT 2009 Question
Mr. A works for company XYZ. The company has introduced a new leave policy in the new year which is applicable from previous year. The following definitions are applicable.
Full Day(FD): Full day in office which is 9 hrs 25 mins (9:25).
Half Day(HD): Half day in office which is 4 hrs 45 mins (4:45).
Full Month(FM): Number of working hours in a month (9:25 x number of working days).
Average Day(AD): Average hours in office which is 9 hrs 25 mins.
The policy has it that, in a month, if AD has not been met, then the deficit hours would be deducted from the FM and the hours obtained will be divided by the FD and the number obtained will be the corresponding number of leaves deducted from an employee.
Suppose June 1st of last year was a Monday. The number of hours of Mr. A for the month of June is given as below.
June 1 - 10:00, June 2 - 5:00, June 3 - 3:00, June 4 - 4:00, June 5 - 4:45
June 8 - 8:00, June 9 - 7:00, June 10 - 10:00, June 11 - 4:30, June 12 - 5:45

I'm bowled!
Everyone said.. "Start searching from now, it will take a year for completing the search", and my parents decided to hear the crowd. But my fate & destiny had other plans. Within a month of rigorous search operations, I got out on the very first ball. The crowd cheered.
I'm in a kind of mixed state as of now. I didn't know how to react. I was actually prepared for a long search innings, but the sudden falling of my wicket surprised me. Currently, I'm not able to sink in things. It will definetely take some time, I know. I don't know how would be the road ahead. But, I'm hoping that everything would be just fine.
And, as people say.. whatever happens, happens for good!
I'm bowled! :-)
